Journey outside of your comfort zone.

Welcome to Why She Travels - the blog for women craving exploration with purpose.

Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.

Hi there! I’m Corinna, the voice behind Why She Travels.

So glad to have you here!

Traveling is a learning process.

Through the element of surprise, it has the power to challenge us and inspire us. It can make us feel self-conscious, doubtful, and even afraid as we push beyond our comfort zones - but from these new experiences we grow in the most beautiful ways.

It challenges our perspective. It presents us with moments that shock our senses and leave our minds buzzing. And as we begin to adapt, and embrace the raw unknown of a place which is so different from what we’ve ever known, we may feel a shift in our understanding of the world.

And that’s what I’m after.

Through years of traveling, I’ve come to realize that what I see in travel photography online does not always reflect the reality of my experiences in that country. In a world of matching athletic wear, infinity pools, curated viewpoints, and perfected presets, my craving for wildly unfamiliar environments and authentic cultural interactions keeps reaching higher levels of priority.

So as I continue to uncover more of these moments, I want to inspire other curious women to push their boundaries a notch further. To explore the uncomfortable and the unfamiliar, and to open themselves up to genuine interactions with their local surroundings. Why She Travels is a space to share tips on how to plan more travel with purpose, immerse ourselves in new environments, and encounter more meaningful experiences as we continue to explore and protect this diverse planet.

Thanks for reading.
